Emma Taylor - Co-Founder / Artistic Director
Emma was Founder of award-winning The Circus Project and Brighton & Hove Youth Circus Company, building a strong reputation for quality and innovation in circus theatre, and involved in the development of Youth Circus in the UK. Emma was head of aerial education and taught 70 children and a popular programme for adults.
Brighton and Hove Youth Circus Company, worked with contemporary circus companies/artists and experienced devising, choreography and creating meaningful work using circus, theatre, dance and more recently, animation, film and multimedia.
The last show Rolling on the Floor Laughing won Brighton Fringe and Festival's award for “best children’s show”.
Emma was aerial teacher at Brighton Festival and Dome for many years,.
Since 2013 she has been aerial trainer on the Participation and Outreach programme at The National Centre for Circus Arts.
Maisy Taylor - Co-Founder / Artistic Director
Maisy is an artist, performance maker and teacher with over 10 years of experience working with young people and a passionate belief in the arts and their potential to transform lives.
She graduated from The National Centre for Circus Arts with a first class honours degree in 2015, and went on to create, write and perform Everything I See I Swallow, a circus theatre show which won a Fringe First Award for innovation and outstanding new writing at it’s first run at Edinburgh Fringe.
Since 2014 Maisy has been working for Participation and Outreach at The National Centre for Circus Arts and has worked with people of all ages and abilities across their recreational classes, centre for advanced training scheme and with London Youth Circus. In 2020 she developed and ran NCCA’s intensive Aerial Creation Course.
Maisy studied Integral Movement and Performance Practice at Arthaus Berlin, previously LISPA. The school has been transformative for Maisy and has shaped many of the ideas she wishes to share in her work.
